Goal of 'DemoCU'

The goal of 'DemoCU' is the promotion of participatory governance and democracy in decision-making processes at the Municipality of Korydallos. As pilot application, the cultural/sports sector is considered, as a 'ring' policy embracing all different citizens' groups of the local society. The project aims at engaging cultural/sport associations and citizens in the participatory process, while particular care is taken for specific target groups (youth, people with special needs, Roma, elderly, migrants and NGOs staff).

Actions carried out in 'DemoCU'

1. Mapping / visualization of cultural and sports structures and infrastructures in Korydallos Municipality

2. Multi-level participatory actions for informing, motivating and supporting wide participation in the decision-making process at the local level

3. Deployment of the e-Platform 'DemoCU' supporting management of cultural resources in the Municipality of Korydallos

4. Development of an Integrated Plan for the Management of Cultural / Sports Structures and Infrastructures as a 'pillar' for the sustainable local development of Korydallos Municipality

5. Development of a 'Guide of Good Practices', based on the experience gained by the 'DemoCU' project, for further deepening participatory democracy and participatory processes both within and outside the study region
